Frequently Asked Questions

Please read below to find answers to some frequently asked questions.

01

What are the benefits of a creative resume?

The field of education is in need of highly-adaptable, innovative educators who think outside the box. A creative resume will send the message that you are exactly who the school is looking for, and you are willing to put forth the effort required for the position you want. Your goal is to get in the door for an interview. A memorable resume, printed on one of our creative resume templates, is your first step!

02

What program do I need to edit the template?

Microsoft PowerPoint (version 2010 or newer). We use PowerPoint instead of Microsoft Word for our creative resume templates because it has greater flexibility when manipulating text and images. You can try OpenOffice, NeoOffice, and Google Docs, but you may experience changes in font and formatting. We offer a full refund if you are unable to edit your template or are unsatisfied for any reason. See our Refund Policy for more information.

03

How do I get the fonts I need for my template?

Some of our creative resume templates include fonts that do not come standard with Microsoft PowerPoint. You will need to download these free fonts using the instructions that are included in the Notes Page of your download. You can also choose to use fonts you already have instead of downloading the included fonts. E-mail redappleresumes@gmail.com if you need additional help.

04

What if I decide I want Red Apple Resumes to create a custom resume after I've already purchased a template?

No problem! We will deduct the cost of the template from our custom resume service for teachers (“Red Apple” or "Apple Pie"). See the Notes Page from your download of any of our creative resume templates for the discount code.

05

How long will it take to receive the first draft of my resume and/or cover letter?

Once we receive your completed “Getting to Know You” form (as well as any other additional documentation, such as a current resume and/or cover letter), we will send you a first draft within 5 business days. You can purchase our Rush Processing service if you would like your first draft within 48 hours of submitting your information to us. Rush Processing is available as an “a la Mode” service.

06

I've ordered the "Red Apple" or "Apple Pie" custom package and I've received my first draft. Can I ask for revisions?

Absolutely! Once we receive your completed “Getting to Know You” form (as well as any other additional documentation, such as a current resume and/or cover letter), we will send you a first draft within 5 business days. You will have two weeks from the date you receive your first draft to make unlimited change requests. Additional revisions beyond this two-week period are available as an “a la Mode” service.

07

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! Like us on Facebook and receive 20% off any "a la Mode" service. We will send you a private Facebook message with your coupon code!

08

Do you have a referral benefit?

Yes! Convince a friend or colleague to purchase our "Red Apple" or "Apple Pie" custom package and we will give you a 50% discount on our "Future Revisions" service! Make sure to tell them to mention your name in the Referral section of our "Getting to Know You" form. We will e-mail you a discount code once we receive their form.

09

Why don't you offer thank you or follow-up letters?

Because we believe that any follow-up communication should be hand-written and heart-felt! When you send a thoughtful thank you card to your prospective employer it will be noticed and appreciated much more than a typed letter.

I'd like to add social media icons to my resume. How can I do this?

Visit the Free section of our store to download a PowerPoint file that includes a variety of social media icons for your convenience. Simply copy and paste them into your template and re-size as necessary. Note: Before using social media icons, please visit the appropriate website(s) and ensure you are meeting the brand's terms of use (placement, color, etc.)
